Water and Wastewater Educational Pathway Program
East Valley Water District has a comprehensive Educational Program designed to engage, enlighten, and help develop the youth of the community! We're excited to offer a range of educational opportunities, including a pathway internship program, facility field trip tours, vehicle equipment demos, and classroom demonstrations.
EVWD is looking to provide the students of our community with a better understanding of water and wastewater services while providing information on the exciting career opportunities in the water industry.

Summer Pathway Internship Program
For students interested in pursuing a career in the water and wastewater industry, our summer Pathway Internship Program is a great opportunity. The program is designed to provide hands-on experience in various departments, including operations, engineering, and customer service. As an intern, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced team, attend training sessions, and gain valuable skills that will prepare you for a future career in the water industry.
Designed for ages: 18-24 years old
Facility Field Trips Tours
Our facility tours are a great way to learn about the water treatment process and how we ensure safe and reliable drinking water for the community. School groups will have the opportunity to see the District’s plants and facilities in action, learn about the various treatment methods we use, and have the opportunity to ask questions. Tours are available for students, organizational groups, and programs interested in learning more about the wide variety of water and wastewater services.

Vehicle Equipment Demos
In addition to facility tours, we also offer vehicle equipment demos. East Valley Water District utilizes specialized equipment to maintain our water and wastewater infrastructure, and we're happy to show students how it all works. From backhoes to water trucks, our team will demonstrate how we use these tools to maintain our water system. Vehicle equipment demos are available for dedicated school programs and are great for students interested in engineering or technology.

Classroom Demonstrations
The District offers a hands-on learning experience for students from kindergarten to 8th grade. Our team will visit your classroom and provide an interactive presentation on water conservation, career opportunities and the water cycle. The demonstrations are designed to engage students and encourage participation, with the goal of inspiring them to become water conservation champions in their homes and communities.
