Public Affairs oversees a number of special programs at the District that are provided to enhance the quality of life for our community.
Community Advisory Commission
The East Valley Water District Community Advisory Commission acts as a liaison between the District and the community it serves. Commissioners attend quarterly meetings to review, discuss and provide valuable input and guidance in the decision-making process for District programs and services.
Emergency Preparedness
Emergencies happen unexpectedly, which makes early preparation a key component to recovery. Reliable water supplies are essential to our daily lives.
Though EVWD continuously works to protect public health and safety by strengthening facilities and practicing strategies for a quick recovery, a major disaster can temporarily disrupt water and sewer services. You could experience a variety of hazards ranging from the most severe - a major regional earthquake - to localized landslides, flooding, and wildfires.
EVWD recommends customers take some simple steps to be prepared for an emergency at home.
Legislative Programs
The East Valley Water District 2015 Legislative Platform summarizes the Board of Directors' positions regarding legislative and regulatory issues of concern without limiting the consideration of additional legislative issues should they arise. Staff will seek the board's guidance on issues that are not contained within the adopted Legislative Platform. More information
Water Conservation
EVWD and our customers know the importance of using water efficiently, in wet and drought years alike. We encourage our customers - as well as our partners, vendors, suppliers, and employees - to use water efficiently. Are you curious how the average home uses water each month? Check out this basic breakdown of monthly water consumption.
It's easier than you think to do more with less water - and we're here to help. Explore this section to find out how to use water in more environmentally aware and less wasteful ways.
East Valley Water District's headquarters was designed to serve as a resource for the community and the region. With the facility now in operation helping to provide safe, reliable water to Highland and portions of San Bernardino, EVWD is encouraging community groups and members of the general public to consider this location as a site for local events.
We look forward to sharing this space with our community. Please keep us in mind for your next event.
